Why I started Health Fred’s Way

Throughout my life, I’ve always tried to maintain a healthy lifestyle. I never obsessed over it, but I consistently followed some simple guidelines. I didn’t think what I did was much different from everyone else until my wife started pointing out some of my rituals. It was then that I decided to share my system with others.

When I first considered writing down health tips, my initial thought was: the world does not need another health blog. But then I realized that, with so many blogs out there, it’s hard to figure out which strategies work and which ones are a waste of time. I feel that many of my techniques contribute to why I feel so good for my age now that I’m approaching 60. Additionally, since many blogs focus on just one area, such as exercise or nutrition, I wanted to create one that addresses all areas, including caffeine, alcohol, supplements, sun exposure, and other elements.

Let me start by saying I’m not a doctor, and not everyone will agree with my suggestions. Occasionally, I will include a link to authenticate my thoughts, but sometimes I won’t. I should mention that I was pre-med for my first two years in college, so I learned many basic principles of how the body works. Also, while playing football in my first year of college and participating in many other organized sports, I gained insights into how the body responds to various activities. I’ve also experienced nearly every injury possible and learned the best ways to treat them. The suggestions I provide are what work for me, and I hope they’ll be helpful to you as well.

Another reason I wanted to share my thoughts is that it seems like every day a new report comes out on what’s beneficial and harmful to your health. It’s getting to the point where it’s hard to know what to trust. I believe I have a good grasp on what works and what doesn’t. Also, many people share tips on staying young, but do those people look healthy themselves? I find it strange when some experts advise us on staying healthy but don’t appear very healthy themselves. I’m not here to claim what is right or wrong; I will only share what works for me.
